A space shuttle was launched from the earth to the moon. the average, or accepted, value of the distance of the earth to the moon is 238,857 miles, but the shuttle crew recorded that their trip took 226,316 miles.
Solstice
happens when the sun’s apex is at its furthest point in the equator. It will
reach the northernmost part of the North Pole and tilts directly towards the
sun at about 23.4 degrees. Because of the direction of earth towards the sun,
the northern hemisphere experiences longer spring and summer and therefore
longer daylight hours.
