When including intext citations, you are providing direct text from whatever source you are reading which provides more specific information in some cases.
In text citation is important because it gives credit to the source you are using. Example would be the book you are reading, and article about the topic you are writing about. If you don't give them credit you can be guilty of plagiarism. It also allows the reader to find your research. Usually the page number is listed or the paragraph depending on where you are taking your information from. Last it gives you authority and it makes it clear that your ideas are built on careful research and analysis.
