What was Boston Massacre?

The Boston Massacre was a street brawl that took place on March 5, 1770, between a "patriot" crowd and a squad of British soldiers who were both throwing snowballs, stones, and clubs. Following the deaths of several colonists, speech writers launched an effort to incite public outrage.

Further On April 19, 1775, the Battles of Lexington and Concord, which featured the memorable "shot heard 'round the world," officially started the American War of Independence (1775-83).

It succeeded in persuading a large number of Americans to join the military and fight for independence, which was politically disastrous for the British.
