There was major areas of strength for an of melancholy and devastation that overwhelmed Europe after WWI. Because so much had been destroyed during the war, many European countries were heavily in debt to the United States and could not afford to rebuild. There were shortages of food and raw materials; thousands of refugees were still homeless. Due to these difficulties, there were almost no jobs and unemployment was high.
The financial and human expense of the conflict was unbelievable. Passing and injury tolls into the many millions genuinely made the conflict something that cast a sad remnant of despair over the whole mainland. The convictions that overwhelmed Europe about the "greatness of war battling" were dispersed toward WWI end. The obliteration fashioned on the Landmass made remaking an errand that was inordinately difficult to embrace.
