(7th grade social studies) THE TEXAS RESOLUTION!!

How does Gen. Santa Anna’s use of the word "comrades" persuade Mexican troops to believe the Texans are "pretenders"??

Respuesta :

The texas resolution, which was approved by the House (120-98) and Senate (27-25) in 1845, was later contested but upheld by the Supreme Court.

An annexation deal with Texas was rejected by the Senate, therefore supporters chose to annex Texas Revolution through a joint resolution of Congress, which only needed a majority vote in each house. After repeatedly refusing to return a military weapon they had borrowed about four years earlier, a unit of Mexican soldiers were sent to retrieve the weapon on October 2nd, 1835, when a group of Texian settlers rebelled against the Mexican government. They engaged in a firefight with the Mexican soldiers. The Comanche, an incursion of Native Americans at the time, had assaulted Gonzales, and the Mexican government had loaned the residents of Gonzales a military weapon to defend themselves. Two Mexican soldiers were killed in the conflict. They ultimately withdrew, and this signaled the start of the Texas Revolution.
