A dog's 30-m-long leash is attached to a building. The leash is attached a=19 m from 0ne corner of the building. Assume that the sides of the building are long enough that the dog cannot go around any of the other corners. What is the greatest area that the dog can cover, in square metres?

Respuesta :

if the leash is 30m long and attached where the dog can go 30m in any direction (except around a corner), this would form a half circle. To get the volume for a circle, we use πr^2. The radius of the circle would be 30m long. If it were a circle, it would have a volume of 2827.43 meters, but since the dog is attached to the wall...it is only half a circle. 1/2 of 2827.43 is 1413.72m
