Let's start with the percentage.  if anything has a % at the end, it means that it's over one hundred.  So really, [tex]60%=\frac{60}{100}=\frac{6}{10}[/tex]


Now we'll go to the [tex]0.4[/tex].  Anything to the first decimal place is over 10, so [tex]0.4=\frac{4}[10}[/tex]. 


And lastly, [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] is equal to [tex]\frac{5}{10}[/tex] if you multiply both the top and the bottom. So now we have three fractions: [tex]\frac{6}{10},\frac{4}{10},\frac{5}{10}[/tex]  So in order from smallest to biggest:


[tex]\frac{4}{10},\frac{5}{10},\frac{6}{10}[/tex]/  So that's equal to:


[tex]0.4, \frac{1}{2}, 60%[/tex]
