There are two ways in order to represent hexagon as simpler polygons. (1) use 6 triangles with a common vertex at the center (or anywhere inside) of the polygon, (2) Use four-sided polygon with shared sides and vertices still inside the polygon.
(b) Unfortunately for b, it would have helped us in finding the area of the complex polygon if a figure is shown.
