We can complte the squares and we have this:

[tex]16(x^2-2x)+25(y^2+2y)+16=0[/tex][tex]16(x^2-2x+1)+25(y^2+2y+1)+16=16+25[/tex]

And then if we simplify we got:

[tex]16(x-1)^2+25(y+1)^2=25[/tex][tex]\frac{(x+1)^2}{(\frac{5}{4})^2}+\frac{(y+1)^2}{1}=1[/tex]
