Solution

Given the equation

[tex]\begin{gathered} 3x+6y=12\text{ -----\lparen1\rparen} \\ \\ x+2y=8\text{ ------\lparen2\rparen} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Dividing equation (1) by 3

[tex]x+2y=4\text{ ------\lparen3\rparen}[/tex]

Now, Equation (2) - (3)

[tex]\begin{gathered} (x-x)+(2y-2y)=(8-4) \\ 0=4\text{ Absurd!} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Hence, No Solution.
