Let:

y = total amount of fabric

x = number of capes

a = yards of fabric for each Cape

Therefore:

[tex]\begin{gathered} y(x)=ax \\ where \\ a=\frac{1}{3} \\ so\colon \\ y(x)=\frac{1}{3}x \\ x=96 \\ y(32)=\frac{1}{3}(96) \\ y(32)=32yd \end{gathered}[/tex]
