The Nile Valley, marshy areas, and the occasional oases implement the only areas that can sustain life.  An oasis is a meadow of physical water in a wasteland which supports plant life. The Nile is the world’s greatest river. It continues north through the Sahara planning an abundant oasis in the sand finally by depositing into the Mediterranean Sea. The water in the Nile River originates chiefly from highland regions near the heart of Africa which experiences persistent rain, flowing towards north, downhill into the Nile.  The Nile is distributed into segments by waterfalls.  A waterfall is a rugged area forms a  waterfall or rapids.  There are six waterfalls in the Nile river.
