and the coordinates of point R are

$R(1,-7)$

The point Q lies somewhere between P and R

What we know this that the ratio is

$\frac{PQ}{QR}=\frac{2}{1}$

This means the vertical distance (and likewise the horizontal distance) of Q from P is 2/3 the whole distance from P to R

The vertical distance from P to R is

$5--7=12$

and the horizontal distance is

$1--2=3$
