There two formulaes for getting the sum of a series.
If the common ratio, r < 1, we use
[tex]S_n=\text{ }\frac{a(1-r^n)}{1-r}[/tex]This is to ensure that we don't get a negative term in the bracket.
As r = 1/2 in less than 1 as in our case, we apply this formula.
If otherwise, we use:
[tex]S_n=\text{ }\frac{a(r^n-1)}{r-1}[/tex]Thus our answer is TRUE
