Find the measure of each angle. angle UVW and angle XYZ are complementary angles, m angle UVW = (x - 10)° and m angle XYZ = (4x - 10)°. What is the value of x?

Respuesta :

When 2 angles are complementary, it means they add up to 90 degrees.

Note: There is also another term, supplementary. It means two angles add up to 180 degrees.

Now, we can write:

[tex](x-10)+(4x-10)=90[/tex]

We do algebra and figure out the value of x:

[tex]\begin{gathered} (x-10)+(4x-10)=90 \\ x-10+4x-10=90 \\ 5x-20=90 \\ 5x=90+20 \\ 5x=110 \\ x=\frac{110}{5} \\ x=22 \end{gathered}[/tex]
