Dilating the point A(x, y) with the scale factor k, we get the point A'(kx, ky).

In this case,

T(2, 4) → (k2, k4) → T'(3,6)

This means that:

[tex]\begin{gathered} k\cdot2=3 \\ k=\frac{3}{2} \end{gathered}[/tex]

or

[tex]\begin{gathered} k\cdot4=6 \\ k=\frac{6}{4}=\frac{3}{2} \end{gathered}[/tex]

The scale factor is 3/2
