Beta radiations consist of positrons or electrons. These radiations have higher energy than alpha particles but lower energy than gamma particles. A piece of paper will not be enough to stop a beta particle. It can be stopped by a few inches of glass or thin aluminum sheets.
Thus the beta radiation requires glass to be stopped.
