Meaning of 1 + 1
That is the usual way how we write the operation called addition.
The sign + is placed in between two numbers meaning they must be added togeter to form a new number.
If both numbers are positive, then the result is greater than any of the sumands.
In the case of 1 + 1, both numbers are added to result in 2, thus
1 + 1 = 2
