Given two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), the midpoint is located at:

[tex](\frac{x_1+x_2}{2},\frac{y_1+y_2}{2})[/tex]

Replacing with points (8,4) and (2,1) ​

[tex]\begin{gathered} (\frac{8+2}{2},\frac{4+1}{2}) \\ (5,\frac{5}{2}) \end{gathered}[/tex]
