The equation to know how many almonds (a) and how many cashews (c) will be:

$60=8\cdot a+10\cdot c$

If she only buy cashews then a=0 so:

$\begin{gathered} 60=10\cdot c \\ c=\frac{60}{10} \\ c=6 \end{gathered}$

for only almonds c=0 so

$\begin{gathered} 60=8(a) \\ \frac{60}{8}=a \\ 7.5=a \end{gathered}$

and a mixture of bout could be 5 pounds of almonds and 2 pound of cashews so:

$\begin{gathered} 60=8\cdot5+10\cdot2 \\ 60=40+20 \\ 60=60 \end{gathered}$
