y = 10x - 7 ......eqn(1)

y = 8x - 5 ........eqn(2)

Equating both equations (1) and (2), we get,

10x - 7 = 8x - 5

10x - 8x = 7 - 5

2x = 2

Dividing both sides by 2, we get,

x = 2/2

x = 1

Substituting 1 for x in eqn(1), we get,

y = 10(1) - 7

y = 10 - 7

y = 3

Solution: x = 1, y = 3 or ( 1, 3 )
