We have the following equation given:

[tex](20x+5)+(24x-1)=\text{ 180}[/tex]

We can aggrupate similar terms in the left of the equation and we got:

[tex](20x+24x)\text{ +(5}-1\text{)= 180}[/tex]

And solving we got:

[tex]44x\text{ = 180}-4=\text{ 176}[/tex]

And if we divide both sides by 44 we got:

[tex]x\text{= }\frac{176}{44}=\text{ 4}[/tex]
