The carton that measures 3 ft by 2 ft by 2 ft has a capacity of

$\begin{gathered} 3\times2\times2=12ft^3 \\ \text{and the machine can pack it with material in 3 secs} \end{gathered}$

The carton that measures 4 ft by 5ft by 6f has a capacity of

$\begin{gathered} 4\times5\times6=120ft^3 \\ \text{and the machine can pack it with material in }x\text{ secs} \end{gathered}$

So we have

$\begin{gathered} 12ft^3\rightarrow3\sec s \\ 120ft^3\rightarrow x\sec \\ \text{cross multiplying we have } \\ 12\times x=120\times3 \\ x=\frac{120\times3}{12} \\ x=30\sec s \end{gathered}$

Hence the answer is 30 secs
