The even numbers in the box is 2 and 4. So

[tex]n(x)=2[/tex]

The total possible outcomes are 1,2,3,4, 5. So,

[tex]n(T)=5[/tex]

The formula for the probability is,

[tex]P=\frac{n(x)}{n(T)}[/tex]

Substitute the values in the formula to obtain the probabiliy for the even number.

[tex]P=\frac{2}{5}[/tex]

So answer is 2/5.
