The commutative property of the addition is:

[tex]a+b=b+a;a,b\in\mathfrak{\Re }[/tex]

Where a and b are any numbers.

Therefore, in case of our problem

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{1}{4}+\frac{2}{5}=a+b=b+a=\frac{2}{5}+\frac{1}{4} \\ \Rightarrow\frac{1}{4}+\frac{2}{5}=\frac{2}{5}+\frac{1}{4} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Then, the solution is

[tex]\frac{2}{5}+\frac{1}{4}=\frac{13}{20}[/tex]

The solution is the first option
