Question number 3 is what I need help with. The second step pictured is pointless. I just need help with the steps one 3, and 4.

in order to find the intersection of both functions equal the expressions

$x+5=-x^2+x+6$

equal to 0 the expression by bringing all to one side

$x+5+x^2-x-6=0$

simplify the expression

$x^2-1=0$

solve the expression

$\begin{gathered} x^2=1 \\ x=\pm\sqrt[]{1} \\ x_1=1;x_2=-1 \end{gathered}$

the graphs intercept at x=-1 and x=1
