The slope between two points is given as:

[tex]m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

plugging the values we have and solving for f we have:

[tex]\begin{gathered} 1=\frac{4-6}{2-f} \\ 1(2-f)=4-6 \\ 2-f=-2 \\ f=2+2 \\ f=4 \end{gathered}[/tex]

therefore f=4
