Can you help me find the area of that paper that remains?

The diagram is given.
To determine the area of the paper that remains.
First calculate the area of rectangle , using the formula.
[tex]A=l\times w[/tex][tex]A=27\times12=324sq.\operatorname{cm}[/tex]The diameter of semicircle is given 12 cm.
To calculate the area of semicircle , use the formula.
[tex]A=\frac{\pi}{2}(r^2)[/tex][tex]A=\frac{3.14}{2}\times(\frac{12}{2})^2=56.52sq.cm[/tex]Then the area of paper that remains will be the area of rectangle subtracted from area of two semicircle .
[tex]A=324-(2\times56.52)=324-113.04=210.96sq.cm[/tex]Hence the area of paper that remains is 210.96 sq.cm.
