10) The perimeter of an isosceles triangle is 51 inches. The base length is represented by 3x – 4 inches, and each leg is x inches. Find the length of each side of the triangle.

Respuesta :

In the case of an Isosceles triangle, the length of its two legs is the same. Therefore,

[tex]\begin{gathered} 51=3x-4+x+x=3x-4+2x=5x-4 \\ \Rightarrow x=\frac{55}{5}=11 \\ \Rightarrow x=11 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Therefore, the length of each leg is 11 in, and the length of the base is 3*11-4=29 in
