Stem cells are undifferentiated or partially differentiated cells that can divide indefinitely and accommodate various cell types.
Stem cells can be divided into the following types:
• Embryonic stem cells, or totipotent, can specialize into any cell type.
,• Adult stem cells, which produce cells of a specific lineage, are pluripotent.
,• Cord blood stem cells, produce different types of blood cells.
