An arithmetic sequence is a mathematical succession in which the difference between a pair of successive terms in the sequence is constant. For example:

[tex]4,7,10,13,16,19\ldots[/tex]

That is an arithmetic sequence with a constant difference of 3.

[tex]14,9,4,-1,-6\ldots[/tex]

That is an arithmetic sequence with a constant difference of -5.
