Interneurons or association neurons lies entirely within the CNS.
Central nervous system is made up of brain and spinal cord. It is one of the most important part of nervous system. The three basic and important functions of the CNS are
1.to take in sensory information
2.process information
3.send out motor signals.
Interneurons have more than one dendrite. Although, they are present in entire brain but they cannot connect brain parts to one another. A motor neuron's impulses are transferred to the central nervous system by association neurons, which are nerve cells that are only present inside the central nervous system. Association neurons also interact with other interneurons to form a network or route within the CNS.
