Humoral immunity is the type of immunity that depends upon the production of disease specific antibodies to destroy harmful bacteria. It is the defense response against extracellular microorganisms . In this type of immunity antibodies are produced by B cells  and they cause the destruction of extracellular microorganisms and prevent the spread of intracellular infections.
