As far as I remember, in Nectar in a Sieve, Nathan can be described as a flat and static character. As he always loved his wife and was content and hopeful all the time in Nectar in a Sieve.

Answer: Flat and static

Nathan is Rukmani's husband in Nectar in a Sieve. His dream when young is to own land, however, this dream diminishes as he grows older. However, his characteristics remain stable throughout the book. Nathan is generally content and resilient, even when faced with great tragedy. He loves Rukmani deeply. Moreover, he greatly values dignity. He does not fight for food at the temple like others do, and does not approve of Ira being a prostitute. Nathan changes very little throughout the book, so he can be considered a static character.
