We have the next equation

[tex]\frac{1}{2}+\frac{4}{x}=\frac{5}{6}[/tex]

We will subtract 1/2 on both sides

[tex]\frac{1}{2}+\frac{4}{x}-\frac{1}{2}=\frac{5}{6}-\frac{1}{2}[/tex][tex]\frac{4}{x}=\frac{5}{6}-\frac{1}{2}[/tex][tex]\frac{4}{x}=\frac{1}{3}[/tex]

then we multiply x on both sides

[tex]\frac{4x}{x}=\frac{x}{3}[/tex][tex]4=\frac{x}{3}[/tex]

then we multiply 3 on both sides

[tex]4(3)=\frac{x(3)}{3}[/tex][tex]12=x[/tex]

As we can see the solution is x=12

The solution set is {12}
