Gases and particles in Earth's atmosphere scatter sunlight in all directions. Blue light is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves.

That is why we see the sky blue.

The white light that comes from the sun is made up of all the colors of the rainbow. The light we see is one bit of all the light beams.

Different kinds of light are different because of their wavelenght.

The longer the wavelenght , the more red we see it.

The shorter the wave the more blue or violet we see it.
