We have the following equation:

[tex]\frac{y}{5}+\text{ 8 = 7}[/tex]

We proceed to calculate the value of y, like this:

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{y}{5}=7\text{ - 8} \\ y\text{ = 5 }\cdot\text{ ( }-1) \\ y\text{ = }-5 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Taking the value of y, we can calculate what they ask of us:

[tex]\begin{gathered} \frac{y}{5}\text{ - 2 } \\ \frac{-5}{5}\text{ - 2} \\ -1\text{ }-\text{2 = -3} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Which means that the value they ask us us -3
