The area (A) of the figure above is given by

[tex]A=A_1+A_2[/tex]

The Area A1 is a rectangle and thus, given as

[tex]\begin{gathered} A_1=lb \\ l=24ft \\ b=10ft \\ Therefore, \\ A_1=24\times10 \\ A_1=240ft^2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

The Area (A2) is a triangle and thus, given as

[tex]\begin{gathered} A_2=\frac{1}{2}bh \\ b=24ft \\ h=7ft \\ A_2=\frac{1}{2}\times24\times7 \\ A_2=84ft^2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Therefore, the area will be

[tex]\begin{gathered} A=A_1+A_2 \\ A=240+84 \\ A=324ft^2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Therefore, the Area of the shaded region is

[tex]324ft^2[/tex]
