Respuesta :

Given:

The container has a top base of dimensions :

[tex]=4in\times6in[/tex]

And the bottom base is a square of side 4in.

We have to find volume of food that holds in this container.

The figure shown is a trapezium having parallel sides of 6in and 4in and height of 5 in given.

We have to find the volume of this trapezium.

Now,The volume is given by:

[tex]\text{Area of trapezium}\times height[/tex]

And the area is given by:

[tex]\frac{1}{2}(\text{ sum of parallel lines)}\times height\text{ of trapezium}[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} =\frac{1}{2}(4+6)\times5 \\ =25square\text{ inches} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Now, the volume is given by:

[tex]\begin{gathered} =\text{Area }\times height \\ =25\times4 \\ =100\text{ cube inches.} \end{gathered}[/tex]

Therefore,the volume of food that it holds is 100 cube inches.
