A pair of inverse operations is defined as two operations that will be performed on a number or variable, that always results in the original number or variable.

Two inverse operations basically "UNDO" each other.

Example: Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division

Now, the problem shown is

3 x 5 = 15

(3 times 5 gives us 15)

This is multiplication. So, the inverse operation would be division! We can say:

[tex]\begin{gathered} 15\div5=3 \\ or \\ 15\div3=5 \end{gathered}[/tex]
