Respuesta :

For the given data of twenty five selected students for number of movies they watched previous week , sample mean is 1.52 and median is 1 .

As given in the question,

Twenty-five randomly selected students were asked the number of movies they watched the previous week.

Number of Movies [tex]x_{i}[/tex] : 0          1        2          3          4

Frequency [tex]f_{i} x_{i}[/tex]:            6           8        5         4           2

Sample Mean of the data

= [tex]\frac{\sum f_{i} x_{i} }{\sum x_{i} }[/tex]

=[(6×0) + (8×1) +(5×2) +(4×3) + (2×4)]/ [6+8+5+4+2]

= 38/25

=1.52

Median of the data is:

Here 25 is odd number

Median is for (N+1)/2 term

(25 +1) /2= 13 th term

Median is 1.

Therefore, for the given data of twenty five selected students for number of movies they watched previous week , sample mean is 1.52 and median is 1 .
