Find out the intercepts

step 1

Find out the y-intercept (value of y when the value of x=0)

For x=0

substitute

[tex]\begin{gathered} y=0+2 \\ y=2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

The y-intercept is the point (0,2)

step 2

Find out the x-intercept (value of x when the value of y=0)

For y=0

[tex]\begin{gathered} 0=x+2 \\ x=-2 \end{gathered}[/tex]

The x-intercept is the point (-2,0)

step 3

Plot the intercepts, and join them to graph the line

using a graphing tool
