(x^2+9x+4.5^2-4.5^2)+14=0

(x^2+9x+20.25)-20.25+14=0

rewrite as perfect squares

(x-4.5)^2=6.25

take the square root both sides

x-4.5=(+/-)2.5

x=4.5(+/-)2.5

the solutions are

x=7 and x=2
