A cylindrical soup can has a diameter of 3.2 in. and is 5.4 in. tall. Find the volume of the can.

State the formula for the volume of a cylinder

Where,

[tex]\text{radius(r) =}\frac{diameter}{2}=\frac{3.2}{2}=1.6in[/tex][tex]\text{Height(h)}=5.4in[/tex]

Step 2

Find the volume after substitution of values

[tex]\begin{gathered} V=\text{ 3.141592654}\times1.6^2\times5.4 \\ \end{gathered}[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} V=43.42937684in \\ V\approx43.43in \end{gathered}[/tex]

Hence, the volume of the can approximately to 2 decimal places = 43.43 in
