For example,

If the first scale drawing is 3/4 and the new scale drawing is 9, then we compute the Scale factor by,

$\text{ Scale Factor = }\frac{9}{\frac{3}{4}}\text{ = (9)(}\frac{4}{3})\text{ = }\frac{36}{3}\text{ = 12}$

The scale factor of our example problem is 12.
