we need to use the distance between two points formula

P=(2,5)

then

x1=2

y1=5

Q(-1,-4)

then

x2=-1

y2=-4

[tex]d=\sqrt[]{(2+1)^2+(5+4)^2}=\sqrt[]{9+81}=3\sqrt[]{10}[/tex]
