we know that

The area of the circle is equal to

A=pi r^2

where

r is the radius

In this problem we have the diameter

D=32 in

Remember that the diameter is two times the radius

so

D=2r

r=D/2

r=32/2=16 in

use pi=3.14

substitute

A=3.14(16^2)

A=803.84 in^2
