As given in the question,
Let x represents total land.
Acres of land used to plant coconuts = (3/8)x
Remaining land = x- (3/8)x
=5x/8
Acres of land used to plant apples = (4/5) × (5x/8)
= x/2
Acres of land used to plant rice = 2.5 acres
As per given condition,
x = (3/8)x+ x/2 +2.5
⇒8x =3x+ 4x+ 20
⇒x= 20acres
Therefore, acres of land planted with apples is 10 acres
