The diaphragm is the section that separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominopelvic cavity.

Diaphragm is a thin sheet of muscles that is present below the lungs to provide them support from the downside. The diaphragm also helps in the process oh inhalation and exhalation. Hence in is an important muscle for the respiration.

Thoracic cavity is the chest area which is the second biggest cavity of the body. It consists of the ribs, the lungs, the thymus gland, the breasts, the heart, the tracheobronchial tree and the pleurae. The purpose of thoracic cavity is to protect the organs present in it.
