Athenian Democracy and Roman democracy were two forms of ancient government which were alike but had different approaches. In Athenian democracy, it involved the direct government of the people and by the people. This means that the people had a direct voice in their affairs.
However in Roman Democracy, The people were involved in government through elected representatives.
The negative side of the Athenian democracy was that it sidelined women in politics and only males above the age of 20 who had both parents from Athens could participate in political processes.
On the Other hand, the down side of the Roman democracy was that it was an aristocratic republic which was controlled by only wealthy people, so the power was not shared equally in society.
Democracy is a system of government in which the people have the right deliberate and decide on legislation, or to choose governing officials to do so through the process of elections.
